Skin Flooding: The New Skin-Hydration Trend!

Read time: 3 min

Today we're going to talk about a new cosmetic trend: skin flooding.

The name says it all  the idea is to “flood” the skin, and that's exactly the concept behind this beauty routine.

The idea is to apply different hydrating products to the face one after another, choosing the ones with the most impact.

We recommend choosing products containing hyaluronic acid, ceramides, niacinamide, or glycerin.

1/ Cleanse

To do skin flooding, we'll start by cleansing the face. We recommend our cleansing powder, reference P141, a powder that turns into a foam on contact with water. This formula contains niacinamide and aloe vera, which help the skin look hydrated, leaving it soft and radiant-looking. Note that this powder is preservative-free, making it ideal for all skin types, even sensitive skin.

2/ Toner

The next step in the skin-flooding routine is toner. This toner helps remove any remaining traces of impurities on the skin. Reference 1T70 is the ideal formula, because it contains hyaluronic acid to help the skin look hydrated while leaving a veil of freshness.

3/ Serum

Now it's the serum's turn. Our pick is the 1S198, which is made up of 98.5% naturally derived ingredients and contains actives such as high molecular weight sodium hyaluronate, which helps the skin stay looking hydrated; tamarind extract; and even Hidagen Aquaporin, a patented active that helps skin look and feel hydrated.

4/ Cream

To finish the routine, we'll add a cream that helps keep the skin looking hydrated. For this we use our new Cocon moisturizing cream, reference 1C229, with an immediate, long-lasting, and comforting feel. This formula contains 97.6% naturally derived ingredients and recognized actives such as sodium hyaluronate (low, medium, and high molecular weight), aloe vera, and earlyboost (an active based on plant-derived taurine).

5/ Biocellulose mask

A must-have for hydration and for this routine. Two to three times a week, we can add a hydrating mask to our routine. We recommend our 1S189 mask, which pairs the hydrating feel of biocellulose with a serum made up of 99.13% naturally derived ingredients that help soothe the skin and maintain a hydrated look thanks to fucogel, aloe vera, and Optim Hyal.

If you'd like to enhance the effect, you can apply a hydrating mist between each step, and do the routine in the evening, when the skin's restorative processes are most active.

To finish the skin flooding

Keep in mind that how often you follow this routine should depend on your skin type: for dry skin, daily use is appropriate, whereas for other skin types we suggest doing it 3 to 4 times a year for two-week periods, to avoid the look of clogged pores and to support the skin's natural renewal process.

Now you know all about skin flooding. We hope you enjoyed this article and that you'll consider adding this routine to your cosmetics range.
