Our history
Technature was founded in 1996 by Philippe Leffur, then a specialist in Breton algae. The business began around the grinding of algae and the supply of marine extracts to cosmetic brands, mainly oriented toward beauty salons.
Very quickly, the company broadened its scope: from ingredient sourcing to the design of finished products developed in the laboratory, based on algae… or not. Without renouncing its marine heritage, Technature enriched its know-how and explored new cosmetic technologies: powders, peel-off masks, hydrogels, dry or portable formats.
In 2007, Pierre Morvan took over as general manager, marking a new phase of structuring and internationalization.
Today, Technature is a structured industrial player in the cosmetics sector, recognized for its agility, innovation capacity, and sustainable commitment.
Our boldness is expressed first in creation: at Technature, we explore, we test, we imagine avant-garde products. But this freedom is always followed by a phase of very rigorous mastery, where quality and compliance are non-negotiable. The goal has never been to adopt a technology for its own sake, but to evolve it, to bring our own added value to it. It is this ability to transform an idea into a concrete, reliable, and differentiating product that makes our strength.
Made-in-France cosmetic care
All our products are designed, formulated, manufactured, and packaged in France, across our 3 production sites in Brittany:
Dirinon: historic site dedicated to dry forms loose, compacted, and granulated powders, peel-off masks, and treatments to rehydrate. Equipment suited to dosing precision, stability, and innovative dry formats.
Le Relecq-Kerhuon: site dedicated to the manufacturing and packaging of cosmetics. Specialist in hot-pour technologies (sticks, balms, waxes).
Brest: manufacturing and packaging site. Production of white-label cosmetics and hydrogels: creams, gels, serums, lotions, hydrogel masks and patches.
This complete mastery of the value chain ensures high standards of quality, traceability, and safety for our cosmetic products.
Innovation as a driver
To innovate at Technature is not to multiply ideas, but to transform bold concepts into concrete, industrializable cosmetic products.
Historically, innovation was built around:
- mastery of powders;
- the development of peel-off masks;
- then hydrogel technologies, which we have been able to evolve and enrich.
Some innovations illustrate our ability to go further, such as the Time Reveal Mask, whose texture evolves visually to indicate the optimal application time.
For the years ahead, our vision is clear: to strengthen the technological dimension of our products while remaining true to our environmental and human commitments.
Emblematic cosmetic innovations:
- Evanescent Mask: a novel technology, co-developed with a partner from a sector other than cosmetics;
- Blossom Mask: a “haute couture” object, designed to combine technicity and aesthetics;
- 4D Lace Mask: the first 3D-printable cosmetic patch formula;
- exceptional technologies such as hydrogel, mastered at a level unique in Europe;
- regularly awarded innovations: Time Reveal Mask, Skin in situ, warming cleansing stick.
